Position responsible to assemble, fit, wire and install parts to form subassemblies or finished products. Must also ship, pack, receive materials, and supply and/or move materials within the department or between departments. This may include the operations of motorized or non-motorized equipment to transport the materials. Employees are expected to be able to behave in a safe manner and operate safely various types of equipment. Must accomplish quality requirements while meeting the objectives of production.
Essential & Secondary Functions:
Responsible to follow all safety procedures and practices.
Operate within the quality requirements and production standards.
Visually inspect parts and assemblies for obvious defects.
Complete and accurately record first/last article check, scrap results, control plan (inspection plan) checks, routings, and other production information as directed.
Perform minor quality inspections.
Responsibility & Customer-Driven:
Follow Standard Operating Work instructions.
Perform or assist with setups of machinery as needed.
Assemble various products.
Key information into PLC controlled equipment as required.
Make minor adjustments on equipment
Pick product from production areas or storage bins.
Lift and supply parts to workstations or designated areas as needed.
Accomplish package requirements as instructed.
Operate scanners and/or computers.
Match product numbers to Bill of Material or other documents.
Edit and release work orders to production entry into ERP system.
Communicate with others to ensure needed material for production is available.
Able to operate motorized and non-motorized equipment. Must pass in-house certification to operate motorized equipment.
Receive and stock various materials.
Perform cycle counts, dock audits, label verifications, etc.
Maintain 5S and keep work area cleaned/organized.
Record work such as scrap results, control plan (inspection plan) checks, routings, production information and other per DMS.
Handle, dispose of, identify, ship and receive hazardous waste materials per policy and procedures.
Respect & Family:
May help with the training of other employees as directed.
Identify problems and make appropriate personnel aware.
Participate in problem solving activities.
Participate in Grote Management System (GMS) activities.
Other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Able to work overtime as needed.

Education, Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses:
Degree or equivalent experience:
High school diploma
Years of experience:
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
Lean experience is a plus
Forklift Operation (May be learned after accepting job but must be passed within 60 calendar days of start date in position unless Management agrees to an extension)
Excellent attendance and safety record
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Electronic assembly as required for the position
Metric and U.S. Measurement system
Attention to detail
Reading blueprints and/or schematics is a plus
Reading and writing
Use of hand tools
Operating a forklift or stand up
Must successfully pass any pre-screening assessment(s)

•Visual Requirement: Able to see and read PC screens; detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print.
•Bending and Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
