SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
An Accounting Assistant is responsible for assisting with insurance accounting as well as assisting with various other accounting projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Provide accounting support for insurance accounting.
•Prepare and maintain accounting documents.
•Daily entry of insurance commission information.
•Prepare bank statement reconciliations in a timely manner.
•Reconcile processed work by verifying general ledger entries and comparing system reports to balances.
•Compile data for requested reports.
•Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
•Associates Degree in Accounting; prior accounting experience a plus.
•Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
•Provide outstanding customer service to external vendors and internal customers.
•Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting data and financial records.
•Organizational skills, ability to track and follow-up on multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
•A team player with a positive attitude.
•Verbal and written communication skills.
•Willingness to advance knowledge base.
